Birthday and Baseball

March 4, 2006

Yesterday was Jason’s birthday. Around our house, your birthday means that you are waited on, pampered, and have no housework obligations!

Jason forgot about all of this, I think because he missed out on some of his chance to be lazy by scheduling several window cleaning jobs yesterday! So he went to work and so did I, doing dishes, laundry and cleaning to get ready for his little birthday shindig last night. Then we met up for lunch with friends in Newburgh (Triple Dragon–none of us had ever been before). After that, I took my newly fashion conscious husband (he has bought several ties, shirts, pants, shoes, socks, and a new suit in the past six months) to Bernsteins so that he could buy some new shirts. Then we got Jonas from school and went home. The boys played and I made dinner.

Both of our mothers and Jason’s brother and his boys came over for dinner (homemade vegetable soup) and cake (Darlene’s bakery). The kids played and it was nice.

This morning, Jason and Jonas are at baseball try-outs. Jason peeked in Jonas’ room before it was time to go and Jonas was actually doing sit ups–I think he’s taking the try out thing seriously! I’m just hanging around the house, planning to spend the WHOLE day at home, something I haven’t done on a Saturday for a very long time.

My brother comes home from Thailand this week! Pray for his safe travel and health!
