Hey, didn’t I See You At The Pole?

September 27, 2006

We had at least 100 middle schoolers around the flag pole at South Middle School this morning, as well as several staff members!

And they were the most exhuberant group of SYATPers I’ve ever had! A big group of 7th grade boys were standing around the pole before we started yelling to people to join us for prayer! “Hey! Come pray with us! You can take a rock home!” Because yes, they were trying to give away the rocks in the landscaping around the flag pole. There have been years when the kids tried to pretend they were just hanging out in front of the school, rather than telling people they were praying. This year was not like this. They told anyone and everyone what we were up to. Some kids weren’t interested, but it was encouraging to see how many were.

  1. Cool! I hope that more kids will be so bold and open about their faith!

  2. That’s awesome! We had a huge group, but I didn’t make it this year. It’s very encouraging that your youngin’s were so excited! That must have blessed your socks off!
