I’m smashing up my baby bumble-bee

October 5, 2005

I told you I hate making up blog titles. Do you remember that song from when you were a kid?

“I’m smashing up my baby bumble bee,
Won’t my mommy be so proud of me?
I’m smashing up my baby bumble bee…”

And then there were verses like “I’m licking up my baby bumble-bee; I’m puking up my baby bumble-bee; I’m mopping up my baby bumble-bee.” I think I learned it in Girl Scouts.

Anyhoo, It’s Wednesday afternoon and I’m already ready for after school club already. I leave for the school in about 30 minutes to wait to pick the crew up. We’re going to come back to the church and pack lunch sack snacks and head to Sunset Park for the afternoon.

I did Outdoor Level 1 training last night for Girl Scouts. Level 1 is the training you have to have if you’re going to hike or anything. I had to take it because I want to take my troop to Audubon Park at the end of October so that we can explore the fall colors and also earn a badge. It was a 2 hour training session, but I only have to take it once so at least I’ve had it now. If you camp overnight, you have to take other training levels, but I’m not ready to do that just yet!

This weekend, I have my lay pastor training in Hopkinsville. I usually go down on Friday afternoon and come back on Saturday afternoon, but this time Jason’s going with me and we’re staying through Sunday and skipping church! I haven’t skipped church for leisure reasons since I got married. Then I’m mostly on vacation. I say mostly because I am taking a group of teenagers to Marengo Cave on Monday, but that won’t be too stressful. After that trip, though, I’m going to really be on vacation through the following Sunday. Jonas will be with us that week, since it’s Fall Break from School, and he and I have a lot of fun activities planned. I hope the weather is nice!

Anyway, I’m going to go clean up the art room here at the church, since I still have about 20 minutes to kill šŸ™‚

    oh man, I feel deprived.
I have never heard of that song, ever. But it was funny to imagine little Becky and little Tamara singing it as kiddos!

  3. That song is a classic. You ARE deprived Katie… poor thing.
