Stomp, Knitting, Shoeboxes and Catching You Up

November 20, 2005

Well, I’ve been a bad blogger these past days. It’s collection week for Operation Christmas Child and I’ve been pretty busy collecting shoeboxes! We finish collection week tonight from 5-7. The Youth Group will be on hand to help collect. So far we have a little over 1,000 shoeboxes, but hopefully we’ll get about 500 more tonight. Optomistic? Maybe, but we got at least that many on Sunday night last year.

Jason and went to see STOMP! last night at the Center in Evansville. It was really neat. We actually had not planned to go see it, but Jason really wanted to and they weren’t sold out last night. We had a good time and really enjoyed it. We didn’t have Jonas, but he would have really enjoyed it.

I am learning how to knit. Bobbie Cantley is teaching me. I’m making a salmon colored scarf! So far so good! I’ve never been one for “handi-crafts.” Except latch hook. I rock at latch hook. 🙂 I started yesterday, so we’ll see how this goes. I wish I would have started on Monday since I’ve had to do a lot of sitting around this week as we wait for shoeboxes to be delivered. I’ve been so grateful, though, to all of the church members who have sat with me!

Ummm…let’s see…we leave for Destin, FL on Wednesday! I know it won’t be sunshiney hot or anything, but I’m excited about the vacation anyway. We’re going to see my sister, who works in Florida. She’s a counselor for the Eckerd Youth Alternative.

Anyway, back to shoeboxes and knitting!

  1. Very cool that you got to go see STOMP! Even more cool is that you’ve moved on from latch hook. 🙂
Have a great trip to Florida!

Cool, my uncle and his family have a luxury condo in Destin, so I have been there once or twice. The color of the sand and of the water are just wonderful!
