Better Late than Never!

Happy New Year!

I hope that you all are enjoying 2006 so far! I’ve spent most of the week cleaning at the church. I’ve cleaned my office and worked on several other rooms that I use (with the help of one of my former youth who is now in college and was on vacation). After a week of vacation, it was good to get back in the swing of things–First Priority, Girl Scouts, After School Club, and tomorrow night we’ll start a new year of Youth Group.

This week was a week of transitions for us at the church. Dr. Blair cleaned out his office as he prepares to retire officially tomorrow. It’s a terribly bittersweet time. We also have a new temporary secretary at the church, so there are a lot of changes that come with that.

I also finally got my new IPOD Shuffle working (thanks to Stephen, the new secretary). I didn’t think I would ever get it to work. I really like it. I have been loading all of my old school Christian CDs into itunes, as well as some new things I’ve acquired (we pretty much stopped buying CDs because we’re cheapskates). It’s fun to have a way to listen to all kinds of music at once.

Oh, and for the record, Jason and I are putting lots of miles on the new treadmill. We have to get Santa’s money’s worth out of it, I guess. It was a pretty big purchase for his tight budget, after all!

Jonas went back to school on Tuesday and had a pretty good week. He is learning (as well as Jason and I who have to learn a whole new way of doing things) his doubles plus one facts. He also had to learn how to spell “Epiphany” for his spelling test (the bonus word). Oh, and if you know any kids, I’m convinced that the best game they can own is Cranium Cadoo. It’s so much fun!

I think the biggest change for us is that Jason is no longer employed by Gamco. After 9 years, he is his own man at last! It’s a bit scary, but he’s chasing his dream and I think that’s important. I believe that he’ll make his business work out as a full time option in the next year.

So that’s the scoop. Now I need to catch up on reading all of your blogs πŸ™‚

  1. I will keep Jason’s business in my prayers. I hope that he is still continuing to carefully coordinate his ties with his dress shirts so as to impress his clients!

Keep at the tread mill! Don’t tucker out! Go-Go-Go! You can do it! πŸ™‚

    Happy New Year!

  2. He’s worn his suit only twice and already thinks he needs another one!

I think that a monster has been created!

I said, “Jason, you wash windows! Why would you ever need two suits?” He didn’t appreciate my opinion very much.
