Is there such a thing as Blogger’s Block? Since we got back from North Carolina, I just haven’t felt like blogging anything! Maybe I don’t have much to say…or maybe I’m tired.
I’m glad that God woke me up this morning, considering the alternative…but I really would have loved to stay in bed. But all in all, it was a good day. I volunteered at school, ran some errands for a church Halloween party at one of our member’s houses tomorrow, made dinner and dessert, had my mom over for dinner, and watched “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” with the family. I love that one–it’s like the best Charlie Brown!
OH!!! Good news! My mom got a full time, benefits included job! She’s working at the police station (she’s been a temp there for awhile). I’m really happy for her. When she first started working there, Jonas overheard that she worked at the police station and got really excited. He wanted to see her new (police) car. He was a little sad to learn that she wasn’t going to be a police officer. 🙂
I can’t believe it’s almost November. It’s hard to believe that we’re already approaching the holidays again! In the next month at church, we’ll have an All Saints Day service where we remember loved ones who have died, have Operation Christmas Child collection week, assemble Thanksgiving baskets for needy families, have the Turkey Trot (a Thanksgiving morning 5K that brings in food for our food pantry), have a movie night for families, and elect the new Youth Group Youth Council.
Our family’s month will be pretty busy, too. Besides the usual school stuff, Jason had tons of customers calling him these days. He’s trying to get all of his pressure washing jobs in before he has to put his pressure washer away for the winter. He’ll have a lot of gutters to clean as the leaves clog them up. He’s also going to put up Christmas decorations for his customers by request. Jonas stays busy with Cub Scouts year round, but there are some special activities to do in November. Also in November, I’ll get to meet my brother’s girlfriend, Polly. She lives in Louisville and I have yet to meet her. But she’s coming for Thanksgiving! I’ll take pictures and post them of course! It’s maybe kinda serious…?
I’ll stay busy trying to keep up with family stuff and church stuff and try to pull things together for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
OR I may just hibernate.
And (although this does not apply to all of you) this is the weekend when we change our clocks! I love falling back. Sure, I love the extra hour, but I also love it getting dark earlier.
I hope all of you are enjoying your Friday nights!
