Books I’m Working On

August 12, 2009

Last night as part of our anniversary date, we stopped at Borders. Which means we walked in the door, I shrieked in delight at the wonderful coffee book smell, and disappeared for about two hours. I love books!

Now, I didn’t leave with a single one. I always pull out my day planner and make a list of books I want to read (whether I’ll borrow them or buy them when I have a gift card) at some point. Plus, I already have way too many books to read. Either way, it was the perfect way to spend some time.

So, here are the books I’m reading or have stacked up to read in the near future:

“My Sister’s Keeper” by Jody Piccoult (I’m nearly done with this one.)
“My Jesus Year” by Benyamin Cohen (I’m about halfway through this one–excellent book!)
“Jesus Wants to Save Christians” by Rob Bell
“Drops Like Stars” by Rob Bell
“Searching for God Knows What” by Donald Miller
“Same Kind of Different As Me” by Ron Hall and Denver Moore
“8th Confession” by James Patterson
“Shaped By The Story” by Michael Novelli
“The Sacred Way: Spiritual Practice for Everyday Life” by Tony Jones
“The Unlikely Disciple” by Kevin Roose
“The Weight of Silence” by Heather Gudenkaul

So, any comments on books on this list?

And, what are you reading right now?

  1. Thanks Becky for your book list. I don't know of any you are reading. I tend to read more technical books. Just this week I picked up Seth Goldin's book "Meatball Sundae" talking about turning marketing upside down. Much of the stuff he is talking about applies to non-profits as well as businesses like mine. I am enjoying reading. You have given me a idea for a blog post. One other thing I did was create a Amazon Store of my recommended reading list here:
