He’s Home!

(Jason on top of Mt. Katahdin in Maine, holding my favorite bandana, which he carried with him while he hiked through the wilderness of Maine.)

I’m so proud of him for making it to the top–where’s he standing in this picture, 99% of Americans will never stand.

I’ve enjoyed hearing his stories about trail magic, characters he met during his travels, a new found friendship in Jon (his hiking partner), and all of the things he accomplished and loved about hiking in Maine.

I am married to a section hiker of the Appalachian trail. I wonder how long it will be before I’ll officially be married to a thru-hiker of the AT? Hopefully it will be awhile before he decides to embark on that journey.

(note: section hikers hike one section at a time and take time off in between sections; thru-hikers hike the entire trail from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mt. Katahdin in Maine without leaving the trail. That 2,100 mile+ journey takes about 5 months.)
