Operation Christmas Child

September 7, 2005

Today, I get to go to Power Lunch at First Baptist Church and speak briefly about Operation Christmas Child. If you don’t know what that is, click here.

I’m hoping that lots more churches in Henderson County as well as neighboring counties will get involved in this ministry. Our church is an OCC relay center, which means that churches and people can bring their shoeboxes to us to be shipped. We collected about 1500 shoeboxes full of gifts for children around the world at our church last year. Bruce Woodring (a local car dealer in town) always lends us a big box truck to load and take to the Owensboro area and from there the boxes are shipped to Boonville to be divided for distribution. It’s a wonderful project.

I go get Simon from the vet after I take Jonas to school this morning. I’m assuming that everything went well with her surgery since no one called me from the vet yesterday. I hope she doesn’t hate me!
