Our Energy "Drink"

February 15, 2006

I was reading Colossians 1 today and at the very end of it, there is a verse that I don’t guess I ever noticed before. In 1:28-29 and it says: “We proclaim [Christ], admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom so hat we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all HIS energy, which so powerfully works in me.”

What a difference it makes to do things with Christ’s energy than with my own energy! When we keep drinking from the wells of ourselves, we just keep coming up with stale, empty, worn out water. When we drink from the living well of Jesus, we get fresh water that doesn’t come from ourselves and are able to keep going!

What an encouraging thing to read!

That reminded me of how Niklas will never drink any water that has been sitting in a glass for more than like 10 minutes…he always has to go get fresh water for some reason, which I always thought was kinda bizarre. But then your post got me to thinking also about “stale, empty, worn out water” and what a contrast that is to LIVING WATER. Fresh, flowing, refreshing, full of life for all who care to partake of it. And His voice is like the sound of many waters – full of LIFE.

  2. Thanks for sharing your enlightenments with us. Don’t you just love it when God does that? Takes what you’ve read time and again, or heard time and again, and just breathes new life into it? !
