Yesterday, I met with some of my youth minister friends here in Henderson to pray. While we were gathering, Charlie (Holy Name Catholic Church) suggested that it would be fun to take popsicles around to the students in town working with World Changers. This is a Southern Baptist ministry that fixes up homes in communities around the country. They come to Henderson every year.
He reasoned that all of the Southern Baptist churches in the area were feeding these 200+ students and leaders meals, but it would be fun to offer something cool to students working so hard when it’s been so hot. And it would be fun to do it together.
So this morning Charlie, Justin (Immanuel Baptist Church), Jason (First Assembly of God), Jason (Audubon Baptist Church) and I loaded up the cooler and the Holy Name Mini-van and started shouting “Who wants a popsicle?” at each of the fifteen stops. It was a really fun way to spend the morning!
