Summer, I’d thought you’d never get here.

May 31, 2008

Finally!

Wednesday was the last day of school!

That means Summer has officially started. Jonas and I couldn’t be happier about that.

But how did my summer start? With a phone call from the church that was hosting our high school mission trip next week (Yes, the next week that starts with Monday, June 2). They canceled the trip (they had a good reason). I had five hs students signed up for the trip and I hated to cancel it. So I volunteered to host it at our church.

I spent all day yesterday sorting out details and figuring out a way to do this. So far, I’ve lined up jobs at the Humane Society and with Habitat for Humanity. We also have some work to do at the church. I’m looking for a couple more jobs with older church members or organizations here in town. It’s not the same as what we would have been doing, but at least it’s something.

Today, Jason had some work and I had some stuff to do for the mission blitz and then we met up to spend some time at Audubon Park. Now we’re home.

June will be a very busy month, but there will be lots of fun things with mission trips and VBS. I’m sure there will be pictures!
