It’s hard to believe that Summer Break is almost over! School starts one week from today. Tonight, Jason and I will go to Parent Orientation at Holy Name (you have to go every year to meet the new teacher and find out about new procedures, etc). Sunday, Jonas will go to his Open House and meet his new teacher. We have no idea who this will be, but we are sure that she will be wonderful b/c all of the teachers at HNS are wonderful.
I’m excited about school starting because I miss the regular schedule and I miss seeing all of the after school kids and the youth group kids and the FCA kids on a weekly basis! I’m excited about football games and school events…but it’s hard to watch kids grow up so fast. I mean, I remember when some of my new youth groupies were in First Grade! It’s just hard to believe I’ve been here for six years. It’s been a roller coaster ride, but I’m always grateful to God for calling me to such a wonderful job!
So pray for the kids in Henderson County as they go back to school. The last week or so has been a week of dealing with the death of one our varsity football players, so it’s especially important to pray for his family and friends. And pray that God would again use our church to open the doors to kids in our community–after school kids, youth group kids, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc.
