The Apple Fell Straight Down

October 19, 2009

Tonight, after I read the label for something I was going to eat, Jonas had this to say:

“Believe it or not, Becky, there are some people in this world who do not care about how much sugar is in their food…huh! I should go work with Dr. Phil!”

And also, “I keep telling Forrest that we’re getting too old to still be chasing other boys. But he always wants to play tag.”

When i asked him what he does at recess if he doesn’t play tag with Forrest, he replied, “Chase the girls.”

This is what he’s doing right now–reading a book, laughing out loud every couple of minutes, and making me listen to him read his favorite passages. Which is exactly how his father reads Twain or Thoreau.
